Personal Projects: Desktop and Web Designs

Explore a collection of my personal desktop and web design projects, not commissioned by any company or client. These passion projects highlight the best of my design skills, unburdened by the constraints often encountered in corporate settings. While some designs may be unfinished or a work in progress, they provide a canvas for creativity and innovation, showcasing what I can achieve when unrestricted by design limitations.

Volunteer Project: Couchers Revamp

I teamed up with the folks at "Couchers," a non-profit on a mission to fix the problems plaguing Couchsurfing. Remember Couchsurfing, the cool platform where you could crash on someone's couch for free while making friends worldwide? Well, when it changed from non-profit to for-profit, it lost its charm. Since I'd been a part of this community for years, traveling and making friends on the go, I decided to put my skills to good use and build a better version. It's a work in progress, and because we're all volunteers, things are moving at a snail's pace.

Housing Swap

Rachel, a friend of mine who's a product manager at Facebook, and I had this lightbulb moment in April 2022. We're both remote workers and were eager for more travel while working from different locales. But there was a challenge – our rent. Paying for our apartments while staying elsewhere just didn't make sense. We figured many other techies faced the same issue. So, we brainstormed this nifty idea: a community-based platform where remote workers like us could list our places when we weren't using them and find temporary stays elsewhere – all for free.
